Premier League fixtures preview: Wigan vs Swansea

Wigan will be hoping to secure a victory over Swansea at DW Stadium to move out of relegation zone.

The Latics are boasting reputation of the side that has capacity to survive in the top flight by the skin of their teeth on a regular basis. This season is not an exception, as they are currently sitting in the 18th spot and have secured several important victories to start their march to salvation. Should they beat the Swans, they will come level on point with Newcastle, Norwich and Sunderland, moving above the former two on goal difference.

With the home game against Aston Villa on final day, Wigan have a good chance of plunging several teams into the relegation zone. However the defeat would leave the club on the edge of relegation for the first time since 2005, as they face motivated Arsenal this week-end.

Wigan team news:

Jean Beausejour set to miss the game due to hamstring injury, while Antolin Alcaraz also remains sidelined with the similar injury.
Maynor Figueroa will be out for the rest of the season because of groin damage.

Swansea team news:

The Swans have been given a huge blow with the news their top goal scorer Michu has sustained a hamstring injury. Luke Moore is expected to fill in his place up front.

Roland Lamah is on team’s long-term injury list with a hamstring problem.
