Premier League preview. Matchweek 9
Back from European fields to British grass as teams line up for the Premier League weekend.
Crystal Palace v Arsenal
A scary afternoon for Crystal Palace as they face in-form Arsenal without a head coach as Ian Holloway parted ways with the club earlier this week. Crystal Palace struggle in the Premier League and have not earned a single point since beating reckless Sunderland on 31 August. Arsenal got a cold shower at the hands of Dortmund and would be desperate to get back on winning paths.
Aston Villa v Everton
Main striker Christian Benteke is back in business for Paul Lambert but Okore, N’Zogbia, Albrighton and Gardner are still out. Alcaraz, Gibson will be out for Everton and Heitinga is a doubt. Roberto Martinez’s side might run second if they win at Villa Park.
Liverpool v West Bromwich
Andre Wisdom was loaned to Derby County for the rest of the season. Philipe Coutinho returned to training but will not be available yet. Luis Enrique is a doubt. West Bromwich have not lost in the last five matches in the Premier League. Gera, Sinclair, Thorne and Foster are major concerns for Steve Clarke.
Manchester United v Stoke City
David Moyes is desperate to get an impressive win to release tension on The Red Devils. However, The Potters have only conceded 7 goals so far and will be hard to beat. Robin van Persie was rested for the Champions League game in midweek and is likely to start. Ferdinand, Vidic, Cleverley are all doubts. United have won all of their five home matches against Stoke City.
Norwich City v Cardiff City
Chris Hughton and Malky Mackay will be looking to leave relegation zone as their teams meet at Carrow Road. Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Johan Elmander are still not 100% sure to take part in the game. Craig Bellamy returns to the club after being rested against Chelsea.
Southampton v Fulham
In-form Southampton, who have conceded an incredible 3 goals so far, host Fulham and are set to get back to the top four after a draw at Old Trafford last week. Ruiz and Hangeland are likely to miss Saturday match.
Sunderland v Newcastle United
Sunderland, who have been in terrible form for more than half a year, face Newcastle United in Tyne derby. Gus Poyet lost his debut match in the Premier League to Swansea 0-4 and will be desperate to impress at The Stadium of Light.
Chelsea v Manchester City
Match of the week between the two giants will see Jose Mourinho and Manuel Pellegrini oppose once again since their clashes in Spain. The Portuguese has not lost a single home match at the helm of Chelsea and has won all of them this season. While Manchester City do not look solid away from home. Ashley Cole is still not certain to start for Chelsea, Martin Demichelis and Vincent Kompany will be out for City.
Swansea City v West Ham United
Ben Davies got another injury last weekend and will be out for a couple of weeks again. Carroll, Collins, Demel, Diarra are working on return the game.
Tottenham Hotspur v Hull City
Rose and Kaboul are still out for The Spurs. Jake Livermore misses the clash against his employers, McGregor and Graham are likely to miss the match.
