Premier League results: Swansea City 1-2 Tottenham

A display of attacking football saw Gareth Bale pick up the man of the match award as Tottenham overcame a resilient Swansea 2-1 in their Premier League away game.

The Welsh winger has again delivered an excellent performance as he set up first goal for Jan Vertonghen and scored the second, to help his team to a victory. The Belgian defender got off Spurs to a flying start with an excellent finish after a smart chip from Bale in the 7th minute of the game. Bale doubled Tottenham lead with a stunning strike from just outside of the area in the 22nd minute of the game. Forward Michu clawed one back for Swansea with a fine header from a corner in the 72nd minute.

Tottenham managed to bounce back from their two back-to-back defeats with a victory to leapfrog Chelsea to a third place. The Spurs are currently having 57 points from 31 games, two points ahead of the Blues, who are fourth with a game in the hand. Swansea remain ninth despite the defeat.
