PSV Strootman keen on Premier League move
PSV Eindhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman confirmed he remains keen on a move to Premier League, despite the interest from host of top European clubs.
Despite his relatively young age, his consistency and leadership qualities have earned Strootman Netherlands’ skipper armband. He captained his side in their World Cup qualifying win over Romania.
The 23-year-old Dutchman’s future remains in the dark, as he has been strongly linked with a move away from Netherlands, despite having three years remaining on his contract. Strootman himself is determined he needs to move to a bigger club if he is to further his career. Serie A giants Napoli have recently expressed their interest in the services of the talented player, while his agent Chiel Dekker revealed the clubs from Russia and France are also closely monitoring the situation.
And yet Chiel Dekker said Strootman has set his sights on moving to England. He stated: “He is focussed on England because that would suit his style. He has the physique, the character and the fitness for it. I am certainly not afraid he could handle that level.”
“Kevin has ambition but it is not in my hands. From PSV it would have to be a step up to a good club. It is not simple though because the price will be expensive and not many teams can afford him. The clubs know what he can do now. It is up to them whether they want to reach an agreement with PSV and take him,” he added.
