Rafa Benitez chases Gómez

Caughtoffside.com states that Chelsea new boss Rafa Benitez will launch a bid for 27 year-old Bayern Munich Mario Gómez with a view to add another striker to his squad.

The Blues are reportedly prepared to pay around 50 million Euros for the striker in January.

Gómez has just recently recovered after ankle injury which kept him on the sidelines for three months. The Croatian forward Mario Mandžukić proved an efficient Gomez’s replacement up front scoring nine goals this season and the German has to be at the pains to make it through to the first squad.
