Reading close to signing Drenthe

Reading are on the verge of signing former Real Madrid player Royston Drenthe, according to his agent.

The Dutch midfielder, who is known for his pace and bad temper, had a loan spell with Everton in 2011-2012. Now he is believed to be flying to London to finalize the deal.
The 26-year-old is expected to sign a three-year contract at the Madejski Stadium after his contract with Russian side Alania Vladikavkaz has expired.

Drenthe’s agent Fabian Veldwijk said: “He’s going to England. He is going to sign the contract and hopefully it will be finished tonight. Everything is going to happen today. The father is going with him to make sure everything is agreed. We have a pretty good feeling that everything will be taken care of. He is really excited about it.”
