Real Madrid Pepe returned on Manchester City wish list

Real Madrid Pepe returned on Manchester City wish list

Manchester City revived their interest in Real Madrid tough man Pepe, despite having their offer rejected earlier this summer.

The 30-year-old Portuguese has been treated as a backup player by former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, and despite Special One leaving Santiago Bernabeu, Pepe is still seriously considering an option of moving to another club. As Varane broke into the first XI, Pepe saw the number of his first-team appearances significantly limited.

New Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is a long-term admirer of Pepe and is looking to take advantage of his uneasy situation. Although Florentino Perez insisted the player is set to remain at the club, Pellegrini is expected to make an offer the Real Madrid cannot resist. It is believed a bid of £20 million would be enough to persuade the La Liga giants part ways with their valuable asset.
