Real Madrid signed Daniel Carvajal from Leverkusen

Real Madrid have bought back Bayer Leverkusen right defender Daniel Carvajal ending player’s brief spell at Bayer Leverkusen.

The 21-year-old defender joined the German side from Real Madrid for €5 million with an option of resigning the player during the initial three years of his stay at BayArena for a fixed fee of €6.5 million. Leverkusen’s sporting director Rudi Voller could not hide his disappointment following the departure of the player. He said: “We are very sad that we no longer have Daniel among our ranks. We always knew from the very beginning that Real would recognise his sporting value sooner or later. He has been so convincing this season that Real’s decision has not come as a surprise to us.”
