Remy edging close to Newcastle move

The Mirror informs that Newcastle have agreed a £10 million transfer fee with Olympique de Marseille for their forward Loïc Rémy.

25 year-old France international is reportedly ready to move to Newcastle in January transfer window in a part-exchange deal, involving 26 year-old Newcastle midfielder Sylvain Marveaux.

Current Rémy’s deal is set to expire next summer that is why the club preferred to cash in this winter rather than let the player go on a free. Newcastle have reportedly beaten West Ham, Tottenham and QPR to land the player.

Loïc Rémy is considered as a replacement to their forward Demba Ba who is likely to join Arsenal.
