Rene Meulensteen joins Martin Jol at the helm of Fulham

Fulham bosses Shahid Khan and Alistair Mackintosh signed a deal with former Manchester United coach René Meulensteen who will work in cooperation with current manager Martin Jol in a bid to keep struggling Cottagers up in Premier League.

The Dutch specialist refused to work under David Moyes and left Old Trafford together with Sir Alex Ferguson. Before coming to London he had a short spell with Anzhi Makhachkla before the club went bankrupt.

Rene Meulensteen told Fulham website:
“I was impressed by the vision of Shahid Khan and Alistair Mackintosh.
“I’ve spent many hours talking with Martin Jol and we share a vision of how football should be played and how players should be developed.
“It’s our job to make sure we can bring this vision to life on the pitch for the fans.”
