Ribery, Van Buyten signed new contracts with Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery put pen to paper on a new two-year deal that will keep him at Allianz Arena up until 2017. Van Buyten will stay for one more year.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said in a statement: “We are delighted to have kept two key players with us,” said Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in a statement. “Franck and Daniel were outstanding in the past season and we counted on them to make the difference in the crucial games.”

The 30-year-old France international Ribery has enjoyed the form of his life this season, helping his side to complete famous treble last week-end, by adding DFB-Pokal trophy to their collection of Bundesliga title and Champions League trophy this season. He scored 10 goals and set up another 14.

Ribery revealed he is delighted to have agreed a new deal with the club. He said: “I had promised this to the fans and now the contract is done. For me and my family Munich is our second home and I am sure there are still one or two titles out there for us to win in the coming years.”

The 35-year-old Van Buyten has signed a one-year extension to his current deal, after yet another impressive season.
