Roma Pjanic is going nowhere

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has not received formal offer from Barcelona and wants to stay at Stadio Olimpico.

The 23-year-old Bosnian has spent an outstanding season with the Serie A side, scoring 8 goals and setting up another 16 in all competitions. As a result, he has been linked with a move away from Roma, with Tottenham and Barcelona considered his most likely destinations. The Blaugrana were reported to have launched a £9.4 million bid for Pjanic.

However Pjanic himself is determined to stay at Roma, hoping new boss Rudi Garcia can get his side on a right track. Pjanic’s agent Michele Gerbino said: “Miralem is concentrated solely on Roma. He is very happy with the Giallorossi and has the utmost respect for the club, so I am convinced they will continue together with reciprocal satisfaction.

“As for the interest from Barcelona, I haven’t heard anything about that and have personally not received any calls. There are no imminent meetings with Roma either, as we must first give the new coach time to arrive and get to know the players,” he added.
