Serie A fixtures preview: Playing with a heavy heart
Juventus will look to forget their 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich by thrashing Pescara as the Turin-based side continue their chase for Serie A crown.
The Old Lady was unrecognizable midweek against the Germans with the shot-stopper Gianluigi Buffon labeled a “pensioner” by German legend Franz Beckenbauer as the Italian failed to stop the opener 23 seconds into the game. Juventus lost 2-0, but still hope to turn things around in the second leg and Conte knows that for achieving that aim the team shall approach it in a winning attitude.
Pescara will provide the Bianconeri a chance to grab three points, meanwhile giving a rest to some key players after an exhausting trip to Munich. The Dolphins will pose different opposition to Antonio Conte’s side comparing to the German giants as they stand at the bottom of the league with 21 points after 30 matches, failing to win in last 11 fixtures. The last time the sides met Juve took a 6-1 victory and the opponents will be happy to get a better result.
Juventus have a considerable nine-point cushion over Napoli who will host Genoa on Sunday, while third-standing Milan travel to Fiorentina as Rossoneri collected four straight victories that lifted them to the Champions League spot race.
