Serie A results: Derby della Capitale ends in a 1-1 draw

Serie A giants played a thrilling game on Monday.

Roma started the game in an aggressive manner with Totti missing a good chance in the opening moments. The veteran forward created the chance for Pjanic minutes later, but Federico Marchetti smothered the danger. Yet Lazio opened the score in the fixture courtesy of a beautiful strike by Anderson Hernanes who fired home just after the quarter hour mark.

Hernanes had an opportunity to double the score, but his effort was deflected over the bar.

In the second half the same player went from hero to zero as he failed to convert a penalty and moments later hauled down Miralem Pjanic in the box. Totti was clinical from the spot, shooting into the corner.
