Serie A results: Roma stuns Parma and other matches

Roma captain Francesco Totti shone throughout the match and capped his performance with a brilliant free-kick that doubled the lead of the Capital side.

The hosts created a number of scoring chances and hit the woodwork twice, yet managed to open the score early on as Daniele De Rossi’s shot was deflected by Erik Lamela into the net on 7 minutes. Totti could have netted the second immediate, but Parma keeper Antonio Mirante performed a fine save. Parma pushed for an equalizer, yet Simone Perotta struck the woodwork and Marco Parolo missed his chance firing narrowly wide of Maarten Stekelenburg’s far post.
