Sevilla Negredo wants to join Champions League club

In-demand Sevilla forward Alvaro Negredo will make a switch to a club that could offer him Champions League football, his agent said.

The 27-year-old Spain international has been linked with a move to Everton and Tottenham in January, however he is likely to be reluctant to leave Sevilla for one of those clubs, as they cannot offer him chance of playing in the top European competition. Negredo is almost surely to dismiss move to West Ham, its current admirers, as the London club has finished the season in the 10th spot.

Negredo’s agent Juanma Lopez said: “We are calm and at the end of the season, we will look at things but the choice lies with Sevilla. He would only accept an offer from a club that is in the Champions League.”

Negredo has been an ever-present in this season’s Sevilla side, having made 41 appearances and scoring 26 goals in all competitions. That said, they will be reluctant to let their prolific striker go for anything less than his release clause of £20 million.
