Shakhtar insist Man City have to pay €50 million for Fernandinho
Shakhtar Donetsk manager Mircea Lucescu warned Manchester City they have to pay release clause of €50 million for their star Fernandinho if they are interested in securing his services.
The recent speculations have lined the Brazilian with a move to the Etihad stadium, after Chelsea’s and Tottenham’s bids were rejected in January. Now Manchester City are said to be in the driving seat to lure the midfielder to England with a £30-million deal on the cards, however Lucescu dismissed the speculations the deal has been agreed.
He said: “If City want to [sign Fernandinho], the clause is €50 million [£42.3 million]”.
The Romanian has also taunted Man City by saying: “If our players receive offers from teams higher than Shakhtar, we do everything possible to help them. Currently, I think Manchester City are not at our level.”
