Shawcross commits his future to Stoke
Stoke City skipper Ryan Shawcross has put an end to the speculations linking him with a move to Man Utd by signing a long-term contract with his club.
Shawcross has joined the Potters in 2007 from Man Utd on a long-term deal before signing the permanent contract with the club in 2008. Since his arrival Shawcross has proved himself as a firm first-choice player at the Britannia Stadium. Stoke City boss Tony Pulis was desperate to hold onto talented defender. The new record £45,000 per week deal will keep the 25-year-old at the club until 2018.
Shawcross has made 20 appearances this season and earned his first England cap in a friendly against Sweden on November 14, 2012.
