Southampton Pochettino: wins are more important than the sympathy of the fans

Sky Sports informs that Southampton new boss Mauricio Pochettino, who has replaced popular Nigel Adkins, is not concerned with the negative reception from the fans.

Pochettino revealed his is determined to do his job and earn points necessary for keeping the club in the mid-table safety rather than trying to win the fans’ approval.

The Saints have hit the ground running under the guidance of the new boss, having secured the surprising 3-1 win over the defending Champions Man City.

Pochettino said: “I said three weeks ago, it’s never nice when they sack one of my colleagues. I got an offer from Southampton and I said yes. I had other offers from other teams but I chose Southampton. For me there is no controversy, it’s just to work and to work from day one and I will carry on working in the project.”
