Spanish and Italian Football Weekend

Barcelona earned a thrilling 5-4 win against RC Deportivo La Coruña. Jordi Alba, Cristian Tello and Lionel Messi made it 3-0 within 20 minutes from start before Pizzi converted a penalty and Alex Bergantinos reduced the deficit making it 3-2. Shortly before the break Messi doubled the lead and Pizzi netted on 47th minute. Barcelona’s mascot made it 5-3 scoring his 21st hat-trick for his team. The game got even more impressive when Jordi Alba drove an own goal past Víctor Valdés and despite one-goal lead Barca earned their three points.
They remain unbeaten in 12 La Liga matches but Club Atlético de Madrid are at the back of the pack as that weekend they were lucky to earn a narrow 1-0 win over Real Sociedad via Falcao’s late winner.
Jose Mourinho’s men get closer to Barcelona. Placed fourth in the table, they are 5 points behind Tito Vilanova’s side. Goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo ensured Real Madrid a 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo on Saturday evening.

Juventus stay atop the Serie A beating out second-placed SSC Napoli 2-0 thanks to two late goals from Martín Cáceres and Paul Pogba.
AC Milan’s poor start to the season went on as they lost 3-2 to S.S. Lazio, who are placed third. AC Milan has 7 points and stay 15th.
FC Internazionale Milano go pari passu with Lazio after the fourth consecutive Serie A win. They won Calcio Catania 2-0.
