Spurs fans knifed in Rome

Ten Spurs fans suffered injuries after an unknown group of masked men attacked them at one of the central Rome streets.

Eurosport.com reports that 30 to 50 Lazio ultras “attacked the men armed with knives, baseball bats, belts and knuckle dusters”.

Two men were knifed. One of them (identified as Ashley Mills) taken to the hospital in a serious condition with an arterial wound.

Another seven fans (three of them identified as Stephen Tierney, Christopher Allen and Dave Lesley) were transferred to the following Rome hospitals: Santo Spirito, San Camillo, Fatebenefratelli.

Several men who participated in the fight were detained by the Italian police.
