Stoke chase Bolton Alonso

Bolton defender Marcos Alonso has returned to Stoke City radar, as the Potters’ boss Tony Pulis is looking to expand his defensive options.

Pulis has visited several Bolton games to reassure the player is quality enough to strengthen Stoke’s defense. After Alonso impressed Pulis with a series of impressive performances, Stoke boss became keen on landing the player in summer.

The ex-Real Madrid player has been approached by Stoke in January, however they failed to agree the transfer fee with Bolton. And yet, with Alonso’s contract expiring in summer, Stoke look destined to snap up him on a free transfer. According to the recent rumours Fiorentina have also expressed their interest in signing the player, but Alonso revealed he wants to stay in England.
