Swansea midfielder Joe Allen moves to Liverpool?

Former Swansea coach Brendan Rodgers went to Liverpool at the end of the season, signing a written agreement that he would not approach any of the club’s players within 12-month term.

Nevertheless the Reds started chasing Swansea midfielder Joe Allen, offering the Welsh club up to £13.5 million for the player.

Swansea official website confirms Liverpool’s interest to Joe Allen, yet Swansea was not prepared to add any further details. The statement also adds that the club is in a financial position where it does not need to sell any of its players.

The deal will be settled after Allen returns from the Olympics.
