Sylvestre returned on Swansea’s radar

Swansea are seriously considering the possibility of signing former Barcelona midfielder Ludovic Sylvestre.

The 29-year-old Frenchman could be available for free as his contract with Blackpool is set to expire at the end of the season. Sylvestre failed to agree a new deal at Championship club.

Swansea made an attempt to land Sylvestre last year but Blackpool rejected their bid, claiming the player is a key member of the first team. The Swans boss Michael Ladurup is a long-term admirer of the player and is expected to follow up his interest in summer as he is looking to strengthen his side to compete with high-profile sides on the European arena next season.

Fulham and Crystal Palace are also closely monitoring the situation.
