Tony Pulis sacked by Stoke City

Tony Pulis sacked by Stoke City

Stoke City have finally lost patience with manager Tony Pulis. The Potters have been disappointing this season and only narrowly avoided relegation, after finishing the Premier League campaign six points above the relegation zone.

Stoke said in brief official statement said: “Stoke City and Tony Pulis confirm that they have mutually agreed that Tony will leave the Club with immediate effect.”

It is necessary to stress that Pulis’ managerial skills allowed him to take Stoke to a new level. After taking charge at the Potters in 2006 he won the promotion to the top flight from the second attempt, where they have never finished below 14th place.

Pulis helped Stoke to reach FA Cup final for the first time in team’s history and qualify for Europa League. However the miserable the Potters’ run of form in the second part of this season, which saw winning just three out of their last 19 Premier League matches, has been the straw that broke the camel’s back.
