Torres wants to stay at Chelsea
Chelsea forward Fernando Torres ruled out transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the club, insisting he will see out his contract at Stamford Bridge, which has three years left to run.
The 29-year-old Spaniard failed to meet the high expectations after arriving to Stamford Bridge in a £50 million deal in 2011. Torres scored 81 goals in 142 games for Liverpool, but his record at Chelsea is considerably less impressive, to say the least. This fuelled the speculations that the Blues owner Roman Abramovich could include Torres as a makeweight in a part-exchange deal to bring Atletico Madrid superstar Radamel Falcao to Chelsea.
However Torres is adamant he remains at Stamford Bridge. He said: “I have three more years contract so I’m expecting to stay at least three years. We won the Champions League last season. Hopefully we can win the Europa League this one. It is our priority as well as finishing in the top four.
“We want to go back to the Champions League next season and keep winning trophies. I think we have a great squad and a young squad to build on. We are sure that we are a great team and we want to show everyone. I would like to be involved,” he added.
