UEFA Europa League third qualifying round results
Athletic Bilbao qualified for the play-offs despite second-leg 1-2 loss to NK Slaven Koprivnica in Croatia.
After FC Internazionale Milano’s 3-0 first-leg win over HNK Hajduk Split their 0-2 second-leg defeat turned out surprising. Nevertheless Inter booked their place in the UEFA Europa League play-offs.
FC Dinamo Moskva, Bursaspor, and the Czech team FC Viktoria Plzeň all made it through the second-leg of the third qualifying round with impressive wins. Beating KuPS, Bursaspor had the biggest 6-0 victory of the second-leg.
Olympique de Marseille recorded a 3-0 second-leg win over Eskişehirspor after the 1-1 first-leg draw.
Liverpool defeated FC Gomel 4-0 on aggregate. Fabio Borini made his debut for Liverpool FC and scored his first goal in the second leg against FC Gomel.
FC Twente, APOEL FC and FC Viktoria Plzeň all made it through the third qualifying round.
Crvena Zvezda came through 6-5 on penalties against Omonia Nicosia and St Patrick’s lost to Hannover 96 0-5 on aggregate.
Danish side AC Horsens, Belgian side Racing Genk , Heerenveen, Videoton, Young Boys, Legia Warszawa, AIK, Steaua Bucureşti, Anzhi Makhachkala, Mura 05, Sparta Praha, Rapid Wien, Genk, Tromsø booked their places in the UEFA Europa League play-offs.
Maritimo, Zeta and Rosenborg’s away goals from the first legs allowed them to progress, because Zeta and Sarajevo scored 2-2 on aggregate, Rosenborg and Servette made it 1-1 on aggregate and Asteras Tripoli and Maritimo ended the first leg 1-1 draw and their second leg was goalless.
The play-off draw is on Friday in Nyon. The 14 losing clubs of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round join the UEFA Europa League play-offs.
