Ghana first-string players Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari were sent home for “alleged indiscipline” ahead of a crucial clash with Portugal.

Ghana chances of qualifying for the round of 16 become even slimmer with the star duo expelled from the team’s camp for indiscipline. According to Ghana Football Association website, Schalke 04 player was excluded for “vulgar verbal insults targeted at coach Kwesi Appiah during the team’s training session in Maceio”, while AC Milan midfielder Muntari committed an “unprovoked physical attack on an executive committee member”. It is to be seen if they get additional punishment from Ghanaian football federation, but the duo will not be able to help their team in the last group match against Portugal. Ghana do have a slim chance to qualify, but need to beat Portugal with a good goal difference.
