World Cup qualifiers. Key fixtures: Denmark vs Bulgaria
Denmark come to the match against Bulgaria on Tuesday with increased optimism following a 3-0 victory against the Czech Republic.
The North European side started the World Cup qualification campaign with mediocre results, yet managed to revive their hopes to get a ticket to Brazil with a convincing win over Czech Republic on Friday. The match was the first victory of the side in the tournament and the first success on the international arena since beating Netherlands 1-0 in their opening game at Euro 2012 last summer.
Denmark head coach Morten Olsen underlined before the qualifying fixtures that his ultimate target is to earn four points from two games, yet three points from the clash against the Czechs should only increase the desire of the Scandinavians to collect more thus giving an opportunity to reach the global showdown.
Italy stand at top of the group with ten points and Bulgaria are one point down, but three points bagged in Copenhagen will bring the Danes within a point to Bulgaria and give a clear chance of competing for the second place in the pool.
