Abel Tamata is a defender of PSV. He was born on 5 December 1990 in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands.
Abel’s career took off in the youth team of NAC Breda, from where the footballer moved to the academy of PSV Eindhoven at the age of 17. Tamata trained and took part in various junior competitions till the beginning of 2010, when he joined the main team of the club. On 16 December 2010, the defender made his professional début in the Europa League match versus Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv. His first Eredivisie appearance came on 17 April 2011 in the away 2-0 victory over Heracles Almelo.
Abel became an important part of the team from the 2011/2012 season. The player was supposed to substitute injured Erik Pieters, but failed to do that due to a spellbone fracture, which ruled the footballer out till the end of the season. The defender made 12 appearances for PSV during two seasons.
At the beginning of the 2012/2013 season, Tamata went on a season-long loan to Roda JC.
