Adem Ljajic is a midfielder of AS Roma. He was born on 29 September 1991 in Novi Pazar Serbia.
Adem started his youth career in Josanica football academy. He had been groomed there for 3 years until he was scouted by Partisan in 2002. Ljajic was on the list of the players to enter the Partisan’s academy. This opened far-reaching perspectives for a young player because Partisan is the best Serbian club and thereafter has the best coaches, players, medics and assistants.
In 2008 Ljajic finished the football academy and joined the first team of Partisan. Adem penned a contract with the club and stayed there up to 2010. Coaches noticed the player’s talent and Adem quickly became the starting eleven player. Ljajic managed to play 38 matches and fired in 9 goals during two seasons for Partisan.
In 2010 it was time for the Serbian to join the club from top European championships. Fiorentina was the most persistent in trying to sign the player. In January 2010 Gigliati paid €8 million for the player’s transfer and penned a long-term contract with him. During three seasons Adem was one of the Fiorentina’s anchor players.
Having made almost a hundred appearances for the Viola, Ljajic moved to Roma.
From 2007 to 2008 Ljajic was capped 32 times and found the net eight times for Serbian U-17, U-18 and U-19 national teams. In 2010 he received his first call-up for the Serbia national team and has taken part in 6 matches since then.
