Adil Rami is a French central defender of Moroccan origin. He started to play football in 1994 when he was 9 years old. His first club was Étoille Fréjus Saint-Rafaël. His first official performance took place in the season 2003/04 when he was playing in France’s 4th division. He took part in 4 games of that season and in 24 matches in the following one, contributing to his club’s raise to the middle of the table.
Rami used to play in attacking midfield before an injury of his club-mate. This incident made the coaching stuff transfer Adil to the centre of defence. That came to be a good decision and allowed the player to make 30 appearances during the season. The quality of his play attracted the attention of Lille - one of the best clubs of France. Rami agreed to join the new team though the terms of the contract offered to the player were quite modest.
At first he played for reserves of the French club taking part in 27 games. Two months before the end of the season 2006/07 he got promotion to the main squad. The club signed a 3-year contract with the prodigy and granted him with a place in the starting squad. After the end of that season the management extended the deal with the defender for 2 more years. His first goal in the official games was an equalizer in a match against Lyon on November 18, 2008. That season was quite a success for the talented defender and this fact couldn’t but draw interest of the biggest football clubs.
Adil signed for Valencia in 2011 and spent two and a half years with th club. In January 2014 the Frenchman switched for AC Milan.
