Born to Kosovar-Albanian parents on 5 February 1995 in Brussels, Adnan Januzaj joined the academy of Anderlecht at the age of 10. Six years later the youngster impressed the scouts from Manchester United and accepted the opportunity to switch to the academy of the Red Devils. He promptly became the star of the club’s youth team and was often praised by Sir Alex Ferguson.
In May 2013 Januzaj made it to the senior team bench in the last match under the legendary manager. The new head coach David Moyes started to use the Belgian during the summer tour 2013 and on August 11 he made a debut for the senior squad in the FA Community Shield final against Wigan Athletic.
On October 5 Adnan was included in the starting line-up of the match against Sunderland and scored twice to give United a 2-1 victory.
Adnan is eligible to play for the national teams of Albania, Kosovo and Belgium but rejected Marc Wilmots’s call-up to the Belgium national team in 2013.
