Ahmed Hegazy is a defender of ACF Fiorentina. He was born on 25 January 1991 in Egypt.
Hegazy gave a start to his youth career in the local football academy Ismaily. He has been playing for the academy’s youth teams for many years, taking part in various youth championships.
In 2009 Ahmed’s parent club put a contract on a table for young player. The possibility of finally starting the senior career really inspired the Egyptian. In 2009 he became the part of the first team but didn’t manage to become the anchor player making 40 appearances during 3 years (up to May 2012).
In the end of 2011 Ismaily and Fiorentina made an agreement about the player’s transfer to Gigliati. The agreement took effect in July 2012 and Ahmed marked his debut in Italy in 2012/13. The transfer cost €1.5 million and in case Fiorentina sell the player, Ismaily will receive 15% of the proceeds.
From 2009 to 2011 Ahmed Hegazy played 16 matches scoring twice for the Egyptian youth national teams. Since 2011 he has made 5 appearances for the Egyptian national team.
