Albano Bizzarri is a goalkeeper for Genoa. He was born on 9 November 1977 in Villa María, Argentina.
Albano’s professional career started in 1997 after he signed his first professional contract with his alma mater Argentine Primera División Racing Club. Bizzarri played with the club first team until 1999. The head coach often allowed Albano to start matches but he failed to position himself as the first goalkeeper making 38 appearances during 2 seasons.
In 1999 Bizzarri was offered to join Real Madrid. The club needed a reliable backup goalkeeper and Albano agreed making 7 appearances during the 1999/00 season for the Spanish giant.
In 2000 Albano signed for La Liga Valladolid. This contract turned out to be the most successful stage of Bizzarri career. Pucela head coach immediately made Albano first-choice goalkeeper as he successfully coped with pre-season training and team adaptation. For 6 seasons with Valladolid first squad Bizzarri made an impressive 174 appearances.
In 2006 Albano signed for Spanish Gimnàstic and featured in 22 matches during the 2006/07 season.
In 2007 Bizzarri joined Italian Catania, where he played for 2 years until 2009. During that time he appeared in every second game of the club with a total of 39 appearances.
Albano Bizzarri was part of the Argentina team at 1999 Copa América. From 2009 to 2013 Albano was a substitute goalkeeper for Italian Serie A Lazio.
At the age of 35 Bizzarri moved to Genoa.
