Aleksandr Belenov is a Russian goalkeeper born on September 13, 1986 in Belgorod.
Aleksandr started playing football at the youth ranks of the local FC Salyut Belgorod and in 2004 made his first team debut in the Russian Second Division. In 2007 Belenov featured in the 1/16 Russian Cup match against FC Tom Tomsk when both teams failed to score either in the regular time or in the extra time. Aleksandr was to defend the net in the penalty shootout and did his job brilliantly saving 2 penalties. Yet, his vis-à-vis was able to save three and it was FC Tom that moved on to the 1/8 round. Overall, Belenov featured in 89 matches for FC Salyut during his six-year spell.
In the summer 2010, the goalkeeper left for FC Spartak Moscow. On August 28, he made his debut in the Russian Premier League match against FC Terek Grozny that ended in 2-0 for Terek. Having got too little game practice in Spartak, Belenov made a move to FC Kuban Krasnodar with which he signed a three-and-a-half year contract in June 2011. His first appearance with the new squad came on August 21, 2011 in a 5-0 hammering against FC Volga Nizhniy Novgorod where Belenov played the whole 90 minutes and managed to keep a clean sheet.
As an international player Aleksandr Belenov was the first-choice keeper for the Russia U-18 national football team that won the Granatkin Memorial in 2004 and was named the best goalkeeper of that tournament then. In 2012 he was capped to the Russia-2 national football team and appeared as a starter in a friendly against the Turkey A2 national football team.
