Aleksandr Mostovoi is a former football player from Russia, born in 1968. He began to play at the youth school of CSKA but wasn’t offered to start his professional career in the senior team. So in 1986 he joined Spartak Moscow after a stay at FC Presnya Moscow. He played for Spartak Moscow until 1991.
The 1992/93 season he spent with the Portuguese team Benfica, though he didn’t become a regular player. Then Mostovoi moved to France where he played for Caen and Strasbourg. In 1996 he switched to Celta de Vigo and palyed for the Galician team until 2004, his last season there was poor and Celta dropped to the Segunda División. In 2005 he had a thirty-day stay at Alavés and then retired from playing.
Between 1992 and 2004 he made 50 appearances for the Russia national team.
