Alvaro Domingues Soto is a Spanish centre back playing for Borussia M’gladbach.
Career of this footballer started in Real Madrid’s academy but soon he moved to Atlético’s school. Gradually coming through the youth system of the club and having reached the reserve team of the club he made his debut in the senior squad of the ‘rojiblancos’ in 2008 against Liverpool in the Champions League.
He was offered his first contract in November of 2009. Thas deal presupposed that the player would officially join the club from Madrid till 2013. Alvaro Domingues was established as one of the key players of the squad. Then the Spaniard scored his first goal when he hit the back of the net in a game against Málaga on December 19, 2010.
Alvaro Domingues took part in a Youth World Cup of 2009 and the U-21 European Championship. During the latter he played in every match without being substituted. In 2012 he was transferred to Borussia M’gladbach.
Also Dominguez was called up as a senior international but the coach Vicente del Bosque didn’t give any playing time to the player neither in a friendly against Chile nor in a European Championship qualifying match against Liechtenstein.
