Amin Younes was born on 6 August 1993 in Düsseldorf, Germany. He is a universal midfielder, capable of playing either at the centre or on the flanks, good both in defense and at initiating attacks.
Amin’s youth career began with SG Unterrath youth system in 1997, where he played together with his elder brother Phillip. On 1 July 2000 Younes joined Borussia Mönchengladbach youth team and has been playing with the club ever since.
On 12 February 2011 Amin made his debut with the reserve team. He entered the game as a sub for Marcel Platzek in the 76th minute. The German scored his debut Regionalliga goal on 17 September 2011. Amin’s Bundesliga debut came on 1 April 2012 in a 1-2 defeat to Hannover 96, when he made a sub appearance in the 84th minute of the game.
Younes was also called to the German national youth teams of all levels. Starting with the U-15 team he has scored more than 25 goals. Amin opened his account with the U-19 team on 1 September 2011 and immediately delivered his first goal against Belgium.
