Ander Iturraspe Derteano is a Spanish midfielder who plays for Athletic Bilbao.
He spent the start of his career with Matiena until he was 10. Then he moved to Athletic Bilbao where he had to scramble through the youth system of the club before moving to the fourth division club Baskonia in 2007.
For the first time in his career Iturraspe was fielded as a part of the main squad of Athletic Bilbao on March 12, 2008 in a friendly against Zalla UC. By the end of the season he was also involved in the games against Portugalete and Aviron Bayonnais.
Having played 30 games for Baskonia Iturraspe acquired an official status of a footballer playing for Athletic Bilbao. He appeared in the top flight on September 14 in a 0-0 draw against Málaga. The second appearance was against Real Valladolid that finished in a 2-0 win.
The midfielder used a possibility to become a starter for the club substituting a frequently injured veteran Carlos Gurpegui. After Marcelo Bielsa appointment as a manager Ander featured in 60 games in the season 2011/12 reaching both the Europa League and the Copa del Rey finals.
