Andreas Isaksson is a goalkeeper of Kasımpaşa in the Turkish Süper Lig. He was born in a Swedish locality Trelleborg on 3 October 1981.
Andreas started his youth career at Trelleborg, his native town’s club. In 1999 Italian Juventus acquired the young and promising goalkeeper. However, Andreas never came out on the pitch within two years at Juventus.
In 2001 Andreas signed a contract with Swedish Djurgården. The 2001/02 season happened to be rather successful – Andreas became a national champion; he repeated his achievement in the 2002/03 season. In 2003 the club became the winner of the Swedish Cup.
Being a first team member Andreas played 75 matches in over three years. In 2004, after a string of solid appearances in the UEFA European Football Championship, Andreas was offered to play for Rennes. Andreas Isaksson featured in 62 games during two seasons at the club.
In August 2006 the English heavyweight Manchester United acquired Andreas for £2 million signing him on a two-year contract. The footballer made his debut in December 2006; his next appearance took place in March 2007. After that he always performed in the first squad. Andreas took the field 19 times altogether.
In July 2008 Andreas Isaksson made a transfer to Dutch PSV signing a four-year contract with the club. Andreas made his debut in a match against Feyenoord that took place on 23 August 2008. The player appeared in 124 matches during his four-year stint at the club.
In the summer 2012, Isaksson joined the Turkish side Kasımpaşa.
Andreas Isaksson is a regular international for Sweden since 2002. He got a first taste of international action in a match against Switzerland in March 2002. Isaksson was named the Swedish goalkeeper of the year four consecutive years beginning from his national debut.
