Anthony Gardner is a back of Sheffield Wednesday. He was born on 18 August 1981 in Stone, England.
Anthony’s professional career took off in Port Vale in 1998, when he penned his first professional contract and started to perform for the main squad. The footballer netted four goals in 41 fixtures for the club during two years and drew the attention of London side Tottenham, which lodged a tempting bid for Gardner in 2000. The back sealed a deal with the new team and fired two goals in 114 games for Spurs during eight seasons.
In January 2008, Anthony went on loan to Everton, but failed to come on the pitch for ‘The Toffees’ and completed a temporary move to Hull City, which decided to secure the footballer’s services on permanent basis after the end of his spell. Gardner featured in 32 matches for ‘The Tigers’ during two years and signed for Crystal Palace on loan in 2010. The back found the net one time in 28 fixtures for ‘The Glaziers’ during his spell and earned the right to put pen to paper of a long-term contract with the club, where he added another 28 appearances to his tally.
In the summer 2012, Anthony transferred to Sheffield Wednesday and took part in 23 games for ‘The Owls’ as of February 2013.
