Anthony Gerrard is a defender of Huddersfield Town. He was born on 6 February 1986 in Liverpool, England.
In 1994, Anthony was admitted to the academy of local Everton, where he started his youth career. The footballer was given an opportunity to perform for the junior squad of the club, which helped him to raise the level of his performance and gain the initial experience. In 2003, Gerrard gave a final touch to all the preparations for a professional start and put pen to paper of his first senior contract.
After six months with ‘The Toffees’, the defender went on loan to Accrington Stanley and made five appearances for the team during several months. In 2004, Anthony sealed a temporary deal with Walsall and took part in eight fixtures for ‘The Saddlers’ during his spell. The management of the club liked the footballer’s performance and decided to secure his services on permanent basis. In 2005, Gerrard penned a long-term contract with the new team and netted seven goals in 155 matches for Walsall during four seasons.
In 2009, the defender transferred to Welsh side Cardiff City and clinched a regular place in the starting XI at once. However, Anthony failed to adapt to the new atmosphere and completed a loan move to Hull City in 2010. The footballer fired five goals in 42 games for ‘The Tigers’ during his spell and returned to his parent Cardiff City, where he took his tally to three goals in 59 fixtures by 2012.
In the summer 2012, Gerrard signed for Huddersfield Town and found the net one time in 25 matches for ‘The Terriers’ as of February 2013.
