Anthony Pilkington is a forward and winger of Norwich City. He was born on 6 June 1988 in Blackburn, England.
In 2003 Anthony joined the academy of Preston North End and spent a year there, adapting to the football life. In 2004 the skillful footballer drew the attention of Manchester United, which invited him to move to its youth system. After becoming a trainee of ‘The Red Devils’, Pilkington proved to have a promising future as the Manchester side club does not invite mediocrities. However, in 2005 the footballer was won over to Blackburn Rovers academy, which is located in his native town.
In 2006 Anthony’s professional career took off in Atherton Collieries, where he spent little time before joining Stockport County. That was the club that gave Pilkington an impetus to develop and flourish. The footballer was included in the starting XI almost immediately after he officially became a part of the main team. At first, Anthony made rare appearances, but soon he became the pivot of the midfield and attack line. From 2006 till 2009, Pilkington took part in 80 games and amassed 17 goals for ‘The Hatters’.
In 2009 the footballer moved to Huddersfield Town and spent two years and a half there, becoming the anchor player of attack and netting 19 goals in 92 matches. In the summer 2011, English side Norwich City consolidated its team by securing Anthony’s services. Pilkington made 30 appearances and fired eight goals for the new club during the 2011/2012 season.
