Antolín Alcaraz is a back of Everton. He was born on 30 July 1982 in San Roque González, Paraguay.
In 2000 Antolín moved to Teniente Fariña and performed for the club during the first year of his senior career. The following year Alcaraz drew the attention of Spanish side Racing. The back met the team’s requirements perfectly, but the new club counted on him as on a reserve player.
In the summer 2001, Antolín officially became a part of Racing, where he spent one season and did not manage to make any appearances. In 2002 Alcaraz completed a move to Italian side Fiorentina. The situation with footballer’s performance did not change much in the new squad and the only thing he could do was to wait either for better days or a transfer. The latter helped Antolín not to lose self-confidence.
Portuguese side Beira-Mar secured the services of the back, who spent four years in the new club and proved to be a solid and talented player. From 2003 till 2007, Alcaraz featured in 112 games and fired five goals for the team.
In 2007 the footballer finalized a move to Belgian side Brugge, where he spent three fruitful seasons. Antolín was occasionally used as a sub, but played the majority of matches with the starting XI. The back took part in 68 matches and went on to net five times during his spell.
From 2010 to 2013 Antolin appeared in 68 matches for Wigan Athletic and later on joined Everton.
From 2008, Alcaraz made his international début with the Paraguay national team and contributed two goals in 21 games for his squad.
