Antonio Barragán Fernandez is a Spanish right defender, the Sevilla’s football academy graduate. He was aged 18 when he started his career at Liverpool in 2005. Antonio never managed to play for Liverpool side in the Premier League. However he made his debut in the Champions League qualifiers substituting Fernando Morientes thus becoming the youngest international to play for Liverpool.
The lack of practice led Antonio to his motherland where he signed for Deportivo in 2006. The transfer of the youngster cost £1 million to the Spanish side. Since then Liverpool weren’t interested in the player though they had a right to purchase him back until the defender is 21.
Barragán continued to perform in Spain for Deportivo until 2009. That was the year when the club got relegated and the talented footballer had to move to Valladolid where he delivered a mediocre football but never made any serious mistakes.
In 2011 Valencia made a bid worth €1.5 mln for Barragán that was accepted by Valladolid. The player himself signed a 4-year contract.
