Antonio Galdeano Benítez was born in 1984 in Málaga, Spain. Currently he plays for Las Palmas as a central midfielder.
He spent his youth playing career with Málaga CF and after that Apoño joined Unión Deportiva San Pedro. In 2004 he switched to UD Marbella, where he played for three seasons.
In 2007 he moved to Málaga CF and helped them to promote to La Liga after two-year absence. Apoño made his debut in the 2008/09 La Liga campaign on 31 August, when they lost at Atlético Madrid 0-4. During that season he proved himself as a good penalty striker.
In the 2010/11 La Liga campaign he was substituted before the second half of a 1–2 loss at Sevilla FC and burst into anger. Manuel Pellegrini suspended Apoño from playing and the latest made his following appearance in two months in a 0–4 loss at Real Madrid.
In January 2012 Apoño was loaned to Real Zaragoza and in three days he made his debut against Levante UD in a 0-0 draw. In the summer he completed a permanent move to the Aragonese team. However, upon the club’s relegation from the top flight, Apoño switched for Las Palmas.
