Artsyom Kantsavy is a striker for BATE Borisov. He was born on 20 May 1983 in Gomel, Belarus.
Artsyom is a graduate of RUOR Gomel football academy. After a couple of years of playing for the home club Artsyom was invited to BATE, which by then had already established themselves as one of the strongest clubs in the country.
Kantsavy played for the Borisov club for two seasons, until moving to Russia. Unfortunately, neither at Spartak Moscow, nor at Chernomorets Novorossiysk Artsyom could realize his full potential, and thus had to return to Belarus in 2005.
The striker played for ambitious MTZ-RIPO Minsk. At that time the club had most competitive squad and managed to win bronze in the national championship. While playing for MTZ-RIPO Artsyom scored an impressive 42 goals in 88 matches.
After another unsuccessful attempt to gain a foothold at Russian Premier League side Spartak Nalchik Kantsavy decided to return to BATE. As part of the club the striker won the national championship, Belarusian Cup and Supercup.
In 1999 and 2001 Artsyom Kantsavy played for Belarus U-17 and U-19 respectively. From 2002 to 2005 he represented Belarus U-21, totaling seven goals in 34 matches. In 2006 the forward made his debut for the national team in a match against Greece.
