Papa Babaсar ‘Baba’ Diawara is a Senegalese footballer of Sevilla FC. His career as a footballer started in Senegalese Premier League for the club Jeanne d’Arc. At the age of 19 Baba moved to Europe and signed for Maritimo from a Portuguese island Madeira.
When Baba appeared in the first team in the season 2008/09 he managed to score 10 times. His outstanding play attracted the attention of many big clubs such as Sporting Lisbon, Olympiakos and Hearts. Nevertheless the footballer decided to stay at Maritimo.
During the season 2010/11 Baba progressed in his individual skills to 21 goals and raised Maritimo to the 9th position. Glasgow Celtic were close to signing the talented player but then the deal was thwarted because of the visa problems.
On January 17, 2012 Diawara signed a 4-year contract with Sevilla FC. He made his first appearance for the club on January 29 substituting Jose Antonio Reyes during the match against Malaga.
One season later he joined Levante on loan.
On April 17, 2012 he scored his first goal for the club during a friendly against Legia Warsaw. He also delivered the second goal making the score 2-0.
