Paulo Vitor Barreto is a striker for Serie A side Torino. He was born on 12 July 1985 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Paulo began his youth career in the 90s at Treviso youth academy. Barreto played with Treviso youth squad for a long time until being scouted by A.C. Milan youth agents. After a successful exhibition match Paulo was signed by Milan youth academy where he played with the youth team until 2003.
In 2003 Paulo signed his first professional contract with his first alma mater Treviso. Since 2003/04 season Paulo started featuring in Treviso starting 11, but it was insufficient to make the Brazilian a key player. From 2003 to 2005 Barreto made 32 appearances and scored 14 goals for Treviso.
In 2005 the Brazilian caught the eye of Udinese scouts and the club signed him later that year. Barreto featured frequently but scored too few goals during the first two seasons at Udinese. Due to this the club decided to send him out on loan.
Barreto joined his former club Treviso on loan and scored 14 goals during the 2007/08 season. Despite his bright performance at Treviso, Udinese decided to loan Paulo to Serie B Bari. During the 2008/09 season at Bari, Barreto made quite a lot of appearances and became a key striker. By the time the loan spell expired, Paulo Barreto made 63 appearances and scored 37 goals for Bari. After such an impressive performance, Bari management purchased Barreto from Udinese and signed him on a long-term contract. Several injuries the Brazilian striker suffered during the 2010/11 season ended his successful streak at Bari. By the end of the season Paulo had 13 appearances and 4 goals.
In 2011 Udinese decided to get their talented striker back. In the summer of 2011 the clubs agreed on the transfer terms and Vitor Barreto returned to Udinese on another long-term contract. In 2013 the Brazilian signed for Torino.
